The Village of Butt: Act I

Buckington Butt Sr.'s Newspaper

I flipped a couple of pages further and read the wedding announcement of Buckington Butt to the former Minnie Johnson, and a glowing article circa 1940 on their first born, Buckington Butt Jr. Pictures of Buckington and Minnie Butt posing with important looking people filled the pages, and an article on Buckington Sr’s first foray into big business, the Butt Natural Gas and Propane Company. Six months before America’s involvement in World War II, the 41-year-old Buckington bought Krack County’s only newspaper and named it The Butt Daily. His marketing staff came up with the catchy slogan, ‘For news, for fun, for a better life… Get it in The Butt Daily.’
