EVERYTHING HE TOUCHES TURNS TO GOLD

read a Tyme magazine cover dated July 1967. The cover of Newspeek from October of the same year showed a smiling Buckington Butt Jr. with the headline:

HE HAS THE BUTT TOUCH

That headline generated a buzz in the pop culture lexicon that lasted into the late 70's. If you were to have good luck, from hitting the lottery to hitting all the green lights, it was said you had the Butt Touch.

He started a successful chain of ice cream parlors called Butt Lick… 99 Flavors, and Butt Cracks Stucco and Cement became a fixture in Texas and the bordering states. If you didn't repeat at least once the popular TV commercial of the time, “Let Butts spackle your crack,” then you weren't a true Texan.
